Cavan General Hospital
The phased refurbishment, extension and fit-out of the Cavan General Hospital.
The hospital remained fully functional throughout the construction phase.
The works included:
- Fit-Out of existing "shelled" Theatre 4 and associated suite of facilities - to provide a new surgical 3 ward consisting of 21 beds including a 4 high bed high dependency unit and 2 isolation rooms
- Operating Department Extension & Refurbishment – internal demolition of existing theatre and associated rooms to provide modern high spec facility including new changing facilities for male and female theatre staff
- Extension of Pathology Department – erection of a first floor extension over the existing single storey ground floor accommodation to the inner courtyard to provide additional office and laboratory space
- 2 No. Rooftop Plant enclosures and associated builders work in connection with extensive M&E services installation.
Extensive coordination was required between McAleer & Teague and Hospital personnel to organise the works to ensure all services provided by the hospital where maintained throughout the contract period.
Special down time was organised for interconnection of M&E services with some of the works being completed during the night.
